Defining a Photographer in 2024

In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the world of photography has undergone a transformative journey. As we step into the year 2024, the business of photography has witnessed remarkable changes, driven by advancements in equipment, editing tools, and the dynamic demands of a digitally driven society.

Keeping in mind the above points photography has further evolved as a profession in the last 20 years like never before. Today being a photographer in the evolved markets with mediums such as websites, Instagram, digital billboards, et cetera coming out, photography has become like a full blown business that involves various activities such as accounting, marketing, social media presence and PR to name of few of the job roles a photographer plays apart from just doing the basic role of a photoshoot.

In recent times, we have worked on several Advertising photo shoots for jewellery as well as hospitality brands where being a photography studio has led us to act as a full-blown production company. I had never experienced this about 12 years ago when I started my photography journey.

With this post I hope I can reach out to and impart knowledge to the budding product and advertising photographers emerging from photography schools today looking to learn and enhance their knowledge of the business of Photography today.
